Are you thinking of creating a business while being a mom? The events of the past two years has shown is that the best time to start a business is now! Being a mom doesn’t mean you can’t be an entrepreneur. There are many ways to be successful and balance the demands of motherhood and entrepreneurship. I call it finding SYMMETRY. With the right amount of time, dedication, and support, you will find success in your new endeavor.
I want to share with you five ideas to start the journey if you are still on the fence. You can do these activities in your spare time. If you think you don’t have that time, I encourage you to start with at least 1 hour a day to brainstorm and plan.
1. Create a Blog to Share Your Expertise and to Encourage Others in the Same Field
Creating a blog is a great way of teaching others what you know. It’s also a good way of connecting with other people who have similar interests to you. This is where I started on my journey as well.
What do you need before starting? First, choose a domain name for your blog that is not already taken. You can use Google or your preferred domain registrar service provider for this. Next, sign up for hosting and install WordPress on it. Finally, start writing content!
How do you find the right content to write about? Finding content to write about can be difficult, especially if you’re just starting out. Luckily, there are a variety of tools that can help reduce the time and effort needed to find content. For example, BuzzSumo is a free tool that allows you to search for content by topic or even competitor. Simply input your desired keyword and it will return the most popular articles on the topic.
2. Take Advantage of the Extra Hours if you are a Stay-at-Home Mom to work on your new business
It is best to create a schedule before starting your stay-at-home mom business. There is so much to do in a day that it is important to prioritize tasks and work on one thing at a time.

Create a daily schedule around your family time
Finding the perfect schedule for you and your family can be a difficult task. There are plenty of factors to consider, such as work schedules, personal responsibilities, and school schedules. One way to start is by thinking about your family’s needs and wants. After doing some brainstorming and considering various options, it should be easier to come up with a daily schedule that balances work with other activities.
Keep track of everything you do in a journal or app
It may seem like it takes a lot of time to keep track of everything you do in a journal or app, but the benefits far outweigh the cost. There are many benefits to journaling, such as improved mental health and mood, increased creativity and productivity, reduced stress levels, and so much more. Try to be productive for 1 focused hour
As a mom, you know that it can be hard to find the time to do everything. You’re always cleaning, working, connecting friends and family, or trying to get some rest. If you’re trying to balance all of these things while still finding time for yourself, then there’s a solution I like to call Productive Hour. This is where you block out every distraction. Have only one web browser open (if you are online) or one notebook in front of you. Time yourself and get your task done within that time.
3. Launching a Business as an Avid Reader
When you love reading, it can be difficult to find a way to turn your hobby into a profession. However, there are some opportunities available for those who want to turn their passion into their job. Whether you are starting out as an author or want to review books for a publishing company, there is an opportunity that is perfect for you.
The first step in becoming an author is to pick a niche and establish yourself as an authority in that field. Writing valuable content on topics (see point 1) is a great start. It may take some time before you see success but if you persist the payoff will be worth it.
4. Find a Niche Business Idea that Needs You (and Vice Versa)
Finding a niche business idea to work from home is not as difficult as it may seem at first. Starting a new business can be an intimidating process. You have to consider carefully what kind of business you want to start, as well as what your goals are and how much time and money you have. However, it’s important not to get discouraged. You don’t need all the answers before you start the journey. In fact, some entrepreneurs find that taking on too many tasks at once can be confusing. It takes is some time and effort to find the perfect one.
5. Build Your Personal Brand by Sharing Valuable Content On Social Media Sites like Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, and Youtube to Expand Your Reach& Visibility Online
The best way to build your personal brand is to share valuable content, and you don’t need to be a creative writer or a very good writer at all.
There are many ways of sharing valuable content. Some people can do this by posting on social media. Some people can do this by blogging and writing articles. Other people can do this by making videos which they post on social media platforms like YouTube or Vimeo.
The most important thing is that the content needs to be of value and authentic so that it will have an impact on your followers, your connections, and the audience who encounters it in some way or another through one of their networks.
